General Information

At Henry B. Gonzalez Personalized Learning Academy, our mission is to promote the whole child academically, emotionally and socially; all stakeholders will be accountable to provide our scholars with a foundation to excel with a global, competitive education that will empower them to become college and career ready.

Vision: HBG will empower future world-changers in a personalized learning environment through collaboration, transformative thinking, and leadership.

Since the school opened eleven years ago, Gonzalez Elementary has implemented many innovative programs and research-based instructional practices, placing student academic performance on an upward trend, from academically acceptable the first year to recognized the following two years. This school year, students will have the opportunity to enrich their technology skills, poetry writing techniques, scientific laboratory skills, and chess (enriching mathematical and analytical skills). We pride ourselves on challenging students to perform to their utmost potential.

The school staff connects with parents and the community to ensure student success. Parents are valued partners and are encouraged to participate in school activities.  Parent involvement opportunities include assisting in classrooms, participating in PTA and parent workshops, and serving on the Site-Based Management team and the Campus Action Planning committee.
